Neighborhoods In Corpus Christi

Whenever you are looking for houses in a new city, you like to know what kind of neighborhoods there are and which of those will be best suited to you. As any Toronto estate agent can tell you, choice of neighborhoods will be limited by the money you can afford to spend on a house, but there are often a few different options within that range as far as community.

As far as diversity goes, Corpus Christi has perhaps more distinct flavors than most other cities on the continent. The economy, location, and natural appeal of the city has led to a large population consisting of many different sub-cultures. If you were a chapter 7 bankruptcy attorney California based before relocating to Corpus Christi, you may be surprised at just how homogeneous some of these Corpus Christi neighborhoods look. We're going to talk about a few of them here to give you an idea of what you can expect to find.

Flour Bluff

Flour Bluff is a part of Corpus Christi which is so distinct it is often thought to be a town all on its own. The community is served by its own school district, and is directly adjacent to Waldron Field, a landing area for the Navy planes which operate in the area.

There is a diverse array of housing types available in Flour Bluff, from large mansion style homes to apartments in the area that may be described as downtown. A location on the peninsula gives the neighborhood a distinct coastal flavor which appeals to many.

Calallen

Calallen was actually a town all on its own until its annexation to Corpus Christi back in the 1960s. Owners of Oakville real estate in Ontario and other annexed areas will understand what this means; while the neighborhood is officially a part of the bigger city it retains its own unique culture and diversity. In fact, like Flour Bluff, Calallen is often mistaken as being a municipality all on its own.

Calallen is located in the northwest of the city, more isolated from the coast than many of the other communities. Like Flour Bluff, it is served by its own school district. Many of the custom designed real estate web sites used by agents in Calallen point out the security of an investment in a home in this neighborhood; house values have gone up for five consecutive years, despite the national trend in the opposite direction.

Several other neighborhoods in Corpus Christi have similar tales. The communities of Clarkwood, Annaville, and North Beach were all incorporated towns until their annexation to Corpus Christi in the 1960s.

North Beach, Mustang Island, and North Padre Island all have a very laid back feel. Both Mustang and North Padre Island include large tracts of land set aside as ecological preserves, and for this reason houses in those areas are quite expensive.

Moving to Corpus Christi means getting the chance to purchase a home in any of the city's diverse neighborhoods. As you put your Milton Ontario house for sale, consider whether you prefer downtown or beach living, short commutes or privacy for your new home.
