The Hans and Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge is considered to be one of the best sea bird watching areas in the world. Some of the birds regularly found in the refuge are pelicans, herons, seagulls, coots, egrets, spoonbills, and ducks. The Hans and Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge has a pier for viewing the birds, a bike and hiking trail that travels by native plants and along the water, and there are grills and picnic tables in the park area.

The Texas State Aquarium is a nonprofit aquarium dedicated to promoting the Gulf of Mexico and conservation. Attractions you may find are sharks and sea turtles, bottlenose dolphins, otters, various birds such as hawks, owls, falcons and parrots, fresh-water stingrays, boa constrictors, jellyfish and much more

Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens and Nature Center is located on 180 acres, and is a nonprofit botanical gardens and a nature center. Major exhibits now include an arid garden, Exhibit House with bromeliads, cycads, cacti, and succulents, a hibiscus garden, a hummingbird garden, a landscape demo beds, an orchid house with more than 3000 orchids, a major collection of more than 100 plumeria varieties, a contemporary rose garden with a large pavilion, a sensory garden, and a water garden. There is also a nature trail through 30 acres of brush featuring some 35 species of woody trees and shrubs, herbs, grasses, and cacti, as well as deer, javelina, and coyotes.
